Halloween 2011

We had quite a fun weekend, Kimberly invited her friend McKenna over for a playdate Friday, we watched the Bluebirds win again and lots of our favorite Halloween shows like (Casper, Hocus Pocus, It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown).

McKenna & Kimberly at the football game.

I just heart the way my kids can play together!!!
Lexus went to the 6th grade Halloween Dance Saturday night dressed as Hermione from Harry Potter. She said it was really fun and she even got to wear her costume to school today!

Lexus and her friends having a great time at the dance!
Bella got a new bed this weekend, not because she grew too big for it or chewed it to pieces. She got a new bed because I melted the bottom of her old bed in the dryer. Note to self: air dry her bed from here on out!
Austin and I got to help Kimberly's class celebrate Halloween at school. They made mummies, went pumpkin bowling, and ate delicious treats while watching "Spookley the Square Pumpkin".

Austin giving it his best shot at Pumpkin Bowling.
Halloween 2011 was GREAT!!! All of the kids looked AMAZING in their costumes!

Our Spanish flamenco dancer - Kimberly.

My fav pic of them trick-or-treating!
They walked in the door and immediately dumped out their bags to look at their spoils for the night. Luckily, they are nice enough to share some of the wealth with mom and dad.

We Have Pumpkins Coming Out of Our Ears!

Kimberly and Randy had fun at the Father/Daughter pumpkin carving girl scout meeting Wednesday night. We added their creepy creation to the other jack-o-lanterns on our porch. Kimberly was excite to wear her Flamenco dancer costume to the meeting.

Austin had his Halloween Party at preschool this morning. He has been dying for Halloween to get here and has been super excited to go to his first Halloween Party! I love how he looks super tough yet super adoreable at the same time ;-)
They got to Trick-or-Treat at school before they entered the BIG room to sing songs for the parents and eat some Halloween goodies. He did a fantastic job singing his songs!

Austin with Mrs. M and Mrs. D (his teachers)

Thursday night we attended the annual Pumpkin Walk at the Fort, they held it inside this year due to weather. It was still a lot of fun and we saw hundreds of great jack o' lanterns! Our favs are below:

The Great Pumpkin

Can you guess who is the Great Pumpkin???

Seriously, who says you can't have fun at Kroger on a Monday night!

We picked out 5 super pumpkins last night and the kids are super excited to carve them tonight. Pics of them later in the post.

A cute pic of Austin from the Halloween store, the night we bought the kid's costumes. This year Lexus is Hermione from Harry Potter, Kimberly is a Spanish Flamenco dancer, and Austin is a boxer. We are feeling the LOVE right now...we have been booed 3 times!!!
"Holy costume party, Batman!" - Robin
After a whole evening of carving, I think we created some AMAZING pumpkins! Check them out ;-)

Hibernation Mode

Another soccer season is over; Kimberly and Lexus played fantastic!

Kimberly's U-8 Team

Cold weather is setting in and no one is a big fan of it at our house. We daily make cup after cup of hot chocolate or hot apple cider. Sweets like chocolate covered pretzels and pumpkin bars are being eaten for dessert. We snuggle down under layers and layers of blankets and watch our favorite movies or Halloween shows. All around it's a general rule we don't go out uunless we absolutly have to in the cold...time to start hibernating!

Thanks to Grandpa and Grandma Grothaus for taking us to the Pumpkin Train Display behind Southern Lanes. Poor Lexus missed out since it was the same afternoon as her surgery. Kimberly, Austin, Halle and Colin has a blast playing games, picking pumpkins, watching all the trains, and even getting their picture taken with the scarecrow.

They were soooo suprised to learn the scarecrow was real!

I just LOVE when my little babes help out in the kitchen; Kimberly and Austin cut up all the potatoes last night for dinner (yes they were using butter knives). They are experts at cutting green beans and buttering bread as well.
Best sous chefs in the world!

Oh! the fun you can have inside on a cold afternoon ;-)

FALL IS HERE!!!

We have been given several reminders lately to hug and kiss the ones we love, to tell them how much they mean to us, and to make each moment with each other count to the fullest. My Aunt Karen lost her father Stan, an old neighbor from Linden past away and my SIL Julie lost her brother Chris at age 42 this past weekend. Please help us in keeping all of them and their families in our prayers and hearts as they mourn the loss of these amazing people.
Don't we all wish we could be this warm as we sit and watch soccer games in 40 degree weather and rain at 9:00 a.m.? The girls have their last soccer games this upcoming weekend and then it is on to indoor soccer for the winter. They have been so fun to watch this season!

I am not sure how many bottles actually consist of a nail polish obsession, but we may be pretty close with 67 bottles! Kimberly and I love to paint finger and toenails, especially in fun designs with the two paint pens we own. I have painted hers to look like ladybugs, spell her name, HHS spirit, and below we did a Minnie Mouse motif. We like to google nail designs to try out. It is always fun to see how creative people can be. We have found several fun designs for Halloween.

Thank You card I made for Mrs. W for helping Lexus prepare for her Quest and Annie Jr. auditions.
Lexus performed in the HMS Fall Choral Concert and sang beautifully as always. The concert counted for 40% of her chorus grade. Her cousin Megan sang in the concert too.
FALL IS HERE!!! Fall is my favorite season hands down! I could go on and on and on about all the fabulous things I love about fall but I will stick to the top 15 (in no particular order):

1. Halloween/Trick or Treating
2. Thanksgiving
3. Christmas (not really in Fall, but technically the same time of year so it counts!)
4. Raking leaves and jumping in them
5. Carmel Apple Spice drink at Starbucks
6. Mums in all the rich fall colors
7. A bazallion jeans, sweaters, and boots combos
8. A bazillion scarves to wear with my jean, sweater, boot combos
9. Decorating my house for three months straight celebrating Halloween, Thanksgiving, & Christmas
10. Candles...all the wonderful smelling candles
11. Delicious food...getting to eat all my favorites at family gatherings
12. Carving Jack O'Lanterns/Pumpkin Walk
13. Black Friday
14. Santa House
15. Snuggling on the couch with my babes watching all the holiday specials on TV

Fun raking leaves in the backyard last night!
