Oh Boy! It's been almost 4 months since my last post. This past year and current year are teaching me the true meaning of flexibility. Like every other parent on this planet, I am juggling what seems like a thousand things at once....work, home, 3 kids in sports, etc... My car has become my 2nd home lately, as I tend to be driving or sitting in it a lot and use it as a second office to get work done. It is not an excuse for my absence, just an explanation for it and like every parent before us, we will do our best and make it through all the crazy and our kids will turn out alright! And I will be sure to post it all to share with you, just not always in the most timely manner :-)
So we last left off just before Christmas, when we had a yummy weekend of baking all our favorite Christmas goodies to sustain us through Christmas break.
Lexus sang beautifully at another chorus concert. We also had the pleasure of watching our niece Natalie and nephew Addison sing too.

Austin celebrated his 6th birthday complete with TMNT cake! He was happy to share his big day with mom, dad, sisters, and grandparents.
Austin had an exciting Christmas party at school where he played pin the red nose on Rudolph, made an adorable snowman ornament, and enjoyed lots of goodies!
Some cute pics of the kids on Christmas Eve night...
We gave Grandma & Grandpa Grothaus a few mementos to thank them for the memorable trip to Florida and Disneyworld this past summer.

Christmas was a little strange this year without our famous Christmas Lotto (yes famous, kinda like Grandma's popcorn), but we improvised and still had a fabulous time. It is definitely never a dull moment with this family around :-)
Our yearly tradition of randy reading "The Night Before Christmas" to the kids before bedtime on Christmas Eve.
Santa must really know what little boys want on Christmas morning...a GIANT monster truck! Austin was beaming from ear to ear. The girls received a specially gift-wrapped present to share; the new Disney Infinity game.
As a parent the next couple pictures are the moments we live for! Kimberly was sooooo excited to give Lexus a musical note necklace she has gotten her for Christmas. She just knew Lexus would love it, since she loved music and singing. It is to this day Lexus' favorite necklace. It made my heart overflow to watch my children care so much for one another and truly relish the act of giving and making someone else happy. Austin was just as excited to give the girls their gifts he got at Santa House.
| I need to show them this pic when they are fighting and remind them they love each other! |
| Best gift ever from the best husband ever! |
Christmas Day was just as crazy as Christmas Eve! But both are always filled with great family, great food and fun!
Sooooo... sometimes the gift giving can get a little out of hand with some good natured fun. This year my husband made it extra fun for his brother to open his present this year. Yes, that is a cordless drill in the second picture. He needed it, if he wanted to get his present out. Other years have included an accordion, lots of little boxes wrapped and put inside a huge box filled with packing peanuts, etc...

More updates coming soon!
