Cold Weather = Craft Session

Isn't this what your kitchen floor looks like on a Monday night :)

Just to prove how crazy our schedule is; here is a pic of a typical week from my calendar (the holy bible of our lives). Yes, I colorcode things. It's crucial in helping make sense of the madness :)

I am soooooo NOT ready for this bitter cold weather. What happened to my sunny, fall days in the 70's??? I now wake up every morning with a steaming hot cup of hot cocoa (since I don't like coffee) to warm me up. This kind of weather makes me want to crawl back in bed, snuggle under the cozy covers and only wear clothes of soft fleece. I am notoriously cold and can never have the heat up high enough. Austin and I had a little craft session today at the dining room table. I made some new cards and he happily colored on his truck paper.

2 Year Old Rebel

When will I ever get the hang of having to get Austin's hair cut every 4-6 weeks? Randy and Austin took a boys' trip to get haircuts on Friday and came home with this new do...a blue fauxhawk!!! Thank goodness the blue was temporary and washed out in the bath that night :) He looked super cute with that rebel hair and the whole reason he got blue - because he said "Mommy like blue" (love my little boy!)

Three more soccer games this weekend where the girls' teams won all of them. The Fall air was a refreshing change to sit out in instead of the blistering heat. I can't wait to pull out my Fall decorations in the next couple days. My favorite time of year is October - December - lots of family time/traditions over three wonderful holidays

Another reason to love FALL - football season is in full swing! We love cheering on the Bluebirds and Bengals everyweekend. Austin has taken a real love of football,; we read football books, play football, watch football, and even sleep with our football :)

Was feeling crafty last night and whipped out some cards...

31 Is Just A Number

We had a busy, busy weekend where we squeezed in 3 soccer games, date night, taking care of a sick kid (Kimberly), worked on Randy's broken truck, sleepover b-day party and a new haircut (really on thursday). I think every weekend from here to Thanksgiving is this busy or more so! Here is a pic of how the kids looked on the way to Lexus soccer game on Sunday afternoon.

Disgusted with my already thin, limp, can't do anything with it hair; I made an appt. to get some FABULOUS color and an actual haircut/style. Bridget my new hair stylist (former h.s. classmate) did an amazing job and I am soooo grateful.

Monday was my 31st birthday and I want to thank everyone for the warm birthday wishes I recieved. My wonderful hubby Randy got me an ice cream birthday cake from Greater's with my fav ice cream inside - Black Raspberry Chip - DIVINE!!! I recieved my gift about a month ago - my new Droid X.

Today, Austin and I started going to toddlertime at the library with my friend Keri and her little girl Gracie. What a cute program...popping bubbles from a bubble machine, listened to 3 books about Fall(theme), played game with apple and won play-doh, and made the cutest Fall corn craft. Can't wait to see what they do next week!

We skyped with Grandpa & Grandma Grothaus; who are in Germany soaking up the culture at museums, etc... and beer at the original Hofbrauhaus. Can't wait to see all the pics when they get home.

Austin is obsessed with this crane/construction playset that used to be Lexus' toy. Also some pics of an afternoon last week Austin and I spent on the levee having lunch at Johnny Rockets and buying my 2011 calendar at Barnes & Noble. He had soooo much fun in the kids' book area playing with trains and reading me books on stage.

Oh, Tooth Fairy!

Exciting things were going on in the Ossege household this morning. Both girls won their 9:00 a.m. soccer games and Kimberly pulled out her FIRST lose tooth. It has been pretty wiggly, wobbely all week and she has woken up every morning asking me to pull it out.

And then she pulled out her SECOND tooth!

I know the Tooth Fairy pays very well for that first tooth, but I am not sure how much she pays for two teeth at one time. This is a first for us :)

1 + 3 = 4 chickens!

What a nice relaxing Labor Day weekend! Friday, we watched the Bluebirds win over Beechwood. Just like any Saturday for the next 6 weeks, soccer games for the girls filled most of our day. I was happy to finally have a craft night with my girlfriends and get my Halloween cards finished. I am now ready to start on my Christmas cards. YES, I did say the word Christmas in September, but hey those cards don't make themselves overnight. I don't even want to imagine the nightmare of trying to make them in November or December. Randy and Scott took the kids to Cirque Devou while Dana and I crafted to our hearts content. Unfortunatly, Lexus came home running a fever and comlaining of a sore throat. Sunday, Randy and Austin took a nature walk in the woods and found some deer. We watched the WEBN fireworks on TV; hoping to take the girls to the real deal next year.

Monday, we went to the Alexandria Fair Grounds for the chicken rodeo. The girls had a blast chasing (carrying) the chickens across the finish line. Kimberly caught two chickens. The first was a white rooster we returned. The second was a charcoal silkie who is the newest member of our chicken family. We are happy to introduce SPICE to you all.

Phototastic

Let me just say it...I LOVE MY DROID X!!! I am still getting used to it, but it is amazing the things I can do with it. Randy & Lexus have already named it "Roy"; they say it's the 6th member of our family. Below are all pics I took with my phone using some of the different effects. The 1st pic is of Austin in his Halloween costume for this year.(just need some boots and hat) Our awesome neighbors Keri, Aiden, & Gracie thought Austin could use it. What an oh-so-cute costume it is! BTW I did not pose him for that pic; that is all him and I love it!
