Monkey'n Around

With school only 2 weeks away, we took some time last weekend to have fun and GO BANANAS! It was so much fun showing the kids my old high school when we ventured up the hill to watch the Reds fireworks with our wonderful neighbors. Austin discovered my lipstick..hee hee! I made the most delicious pasta dish with lobster, asparagus, carrots, and zucchini. I found the cutest stamps and buttons at Micheal's Crafts for only $1.00 each. They have the best craft items in their $1.00 section.

We headed to the zoo on Saturday for fun on the wild side. Lexus was brave enough to hold a Rainbow snake named "Mickey" around her neck. He was named for the Mickey Mouse shape his spots created on his back. Austin and Kimbelry had a howlin' good time imitating the gibbon monkeys (Randy's fav). Our favorite moments of the day came at the Lorekeet exhibit. They loved Randy, flocking to stand on his shoulders. Eventually, we all got to hold and feed one. Austin kept trying to get away from the one on his shoulder, but couldn't figure out why it wouldn't go away..hee hee!

The girls won lots of meadals in the Jr. Olympics. Lexus won 2 gold medals for 1st place in the 200 yd. dash and 4 X 100 relay. She earned a silver medal in the softball throw. Kimberly got a silver medal in the 4 X 50 shuttle relay and 2 bronze medals for 3rd place in the long jump and 100 yd. dash. We couldn't of been more proud of both girls! Austin even got a medal for best fan. They can't wait to do it all over again next year.
