SANTA HOUSE 2010

This weekend was our school's one and only fundraiser - Santa House! What a great way to help get you in the holiday spirit. We attended Friday night and the first thing we did was get a picture with Santa Claus. I think this was officially the first year without tears, everyone was excited to talk to Santa, and smiled for the picture...YEA!!!

The kids had a blast playing games in the gym. Can you guess who is behind the Frosty mask? Kimberly shopped for everyone at the North Pole with Elf Nick for Christmas. Lexus was an elf on Saturday helping out with in the North Pole Cafe, games in the gym, and the North Pole Gift Shop. Kimberly was jealous, only 5th graders get to be elves.

My favorite tradition at Santa House is the family portraits. Every year, each child draws a family portrait in art class to display at Santa House. In the past, they were rectangular and had a magnet on the back to put on the fridge. The last 2 years, they have made them into ornaments to hang on the Christmas tree. It always fills my heart with love and joy to see each child's interpretation of our family.

The children's craft room is always a favorite stop. Each of the kids made 2 Christmas crafts.

The rest of our weekend was fun and relaxing. I think we are all ready for Thanksgiving next week...who wouldn't be! A short school week, trips to the aquarium and to the Fort to see Toy Story 3, yummy food we will gorge on all weekend, Black Friday, and transforming the house for Christmas!!!
