"Five Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand

Six Hundred Minutes
Five Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand
Moments so dear
Five Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand
Six Hundred Minutes
How Do You Measure - Measure A Year?
In Daylights - In Sunsets
In Midnights - In Cups Of Coffee
In Inches - In Miles
In Laughter - In Strife

In - Five Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand
Six Hundred Minutes
How Do You Measure
A Year In The Life?

How About Love?
How About Love?
How About Love?
Measure In Love

Seasons of Love.
Seasons of Love."

I LOVE the title of this post in more ways than one. Above are some of  the lyrics to the song "Seasons of Love" from the musical RENT. Lexus' 5th grade class sang this song recently and I am just smitten with it. For one it really makes you think about how you spend your time with those you love and how much one year in your life encompasses.

Happy (early) Birthday to Kimberly! This year she wanted a newer, bigger bike for her birthday and what fun would it have been if we waited till August to get it? This way she can enjoy it all summer!

What a dare devil - no feet!
We took a 6-mile bike ride at Lunken Airport last weekend and Kimberly proved quite a challenge to keep up with on her new bike. Wish I had even a fraction of the energy she had.
Here come the tears and lots of them...our baby is now officially a middle schooler! Randy and I are still processing this and having a little difficulty coming to terms with it. (I may just choose to ignore this fact all summer at least until August) 5th Grade dinner was Monday night and what a wonderful night to celebrate the amazing kids we raised and all the amazing memories they shared together the last 6 years.

Lexus looking so grown up!

They were called up on stage to recieve their certificate for completing 5th grade and as a class they sang 2 songs "Seasons of Love" and "Friends". During the 2nd song Lexus started to let the tears flow and for all three of us they didn't stop until after the 5th Grade video.
The last week of school finally arrived and was packed with many wonderful things! Lexus enjoyed trips to LazerKraze and bowling and Kimberly's class went to the Levee to see "Rio". We threw a baby shower for Kimberly's teacher.
Cards I made to give to the girls current teachers as well as every homeroom teacher Lexus has throughout elementary school.

At 2 different awards ceremonies, Lexus recieved awards in Music, P.E., Handwriting, Math, Science, and Reading as well as a trophy/Highlands t-shirt for having over 400 AR points this year.Kimberly recieved an award for perfect attendance and a t-shirt for having over 100 AR points.

Let summer vacation begin!
