Impromtu Trip

We just love little spur of the moment trips here and there! This time, we drove up to Columbus to visit Randy for the weekend while he worked. The 2-hr drive up started a 1/2 hour behind schedule(should of been a sign), but went very smoothly the whole way up I-71. My printed out directions were only five lines long...how hard could that be? Apparently a nightmare!!! I don't know how, but I ended up on 670 instead of I-70. After driving forever, just trying to find an exit to stop, I drove past the Ohio State Fair and ended up in front of Ohio State University.(no where near my destination) Frustrated, ready to pull my hair out and screaming, Randy came to our rescue with the GPS and found us. I happily followed him to out hotel - Fort Rapids - think Great Wolf Lodge but with a western twist.

We hit the water park full of energy, ready to tackled any water silde they could throw at us, chill on the lazy river, and splash around with Austin in the kiddie area.

Sunday, while poor Randy was working, we ventured over to COSI for 4 1/2 hrs. of fun! The girls bounced from one exhibit to the next, while Austin snoozed in the stroller and I tried to keep up. We visited their traveling exhibit "Ancient Egypt" which was eye-opening. Austin finally opened his peepers, so we headed to Kidspace (ages birth - Kindergarten) for some pint-size fun. Poor Lexus! She was restricted to the big kid room...apparently it was pretty boring. But, a trip to the gift shop cured all glum faces!

A nice dinner, time in the arcade, and more splishin' and splashin' ended out day. The girls amassed 1,135 tickets in the arcade. We are so proud! In their crazy shopping spree at the prize counter, they remembered their sweet lil' brother who was napping up in the room and got him two new dinosaurs.

Our last morning in Columbus, we made a final trip to the water park and by 2:30 p.m. started the long drive home. Home sweet home!!!
