Baby, It's Cold Outside!

Friday was a good day, no Friday was a great day! I ended my first full week as the Art teacher. and I got gas for $2.76/gallon...YIPEE! I was so exstatic, I was actually in a good mood to buy gas. I take back my "great day" at least for Lexus, she failed her eye exam at school and was crushed. Luckily, she was just outside the Art room and I was able to comfort her. Double luck, she had Art with me next anyway, so I was able to reassure her it would all be okay. Our next step, is to get a full eye exam from an optomitrist and go from there. Friday night, we carved the pumpkins we got last weekend. We have 3 pumpkins and the kids got to pick out the design to go on the pumpkin. Lexus chose a Halloween cat, Kimberly chose a singing ghost quartet, and Austin got a tradition pumpkin face drawn by Mommy. The girls had fun helping us scoop out the guts of the pumpkin. Kimberly wanted to keep all the seeds (not to eat, just to keep). We compromised and she got to keep a handful.

Saturday, was the start of fall muzzleloader season for Randy, so he spent the whole day in Cynthiana on the farm. The kids and I braved the cold and watched Lexus play soccer. They lost the game and unfortunatly Kimberly got her 1st bee sting. It was dreadful, she screamed and carried on forever. Thank goodness for Grandpa and his offer to let her watch the game from the big rred truck. I helped Steph make a pirate costume for Halloween. Doesn't Austin look so cute as a pirate...Arrgh! I also had time Saturday night to create some new X-mas cards.

Sunday, we cleaned out our crafts tower and hung around watching the Bengals lose again! Then, we headed to the Aquarium for some fall fun at Pirates' Cove. The girls thought it was hilarious to see the fish eating jack-o'-lanterns in the tanks. Lexus and Randy played Frogger in the Frog Bog...talk about old school!

Ugh, cold weather! I don't think I'm ready for that yet. Looks like your weekend was a blast. Y'all are quite the pumpkin carvers! Can't wait to hear about your first week :) (And tell Lexus I said that she will look bee-yoo-tiful in some specs!)
