Newsflash...I am going to be the Art teacher at Moyer and Woodfill from Oct. 13th till Christmas Break! I am doing a long term sub for the Art teacher who will be on maternity leave. This means I get to teach Lexus, as well as my nephew Addison, and my 2 nieces Natalie and Jessica. I am so excited, what is more fun than ART! I think I am a fairly creative person and love to draw, paint, etc... so I feel that this is right up my alley. I have been given quite a bit of leniency in what I want to teach, I have planned some great lessons that incorporate literature, culture, and connects with the curriculum the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders are studying. Plus, the money is nice :) Here is a picture Lexus recently drew in Art class of the front of the school building. I think she really captured the architecture of the building and the main features. We are so proud of her! She has shown interest in Art lessons, so we are going to look into it.

Is this not the cutest pic you've seen! Kimberly, Austin and I went to the library tonight while Lexus was at CCD. Austin was getting frustrated in the stroller, so I put him in the chair with some animals to entertain him. Kimberly brought him some books, which he opened and checked out. I love the pic because he actually looks like he is reading the book. So, Austin's favorite thing to do is crawl into the girl's room and completely empty the bookcase of every book on it. Well, he was in heaven at the library, so many books to pull off the shelves. He scurried around giggling as he pulled books off the shelves and I followed picking them up. Austin has been taking a few steps here and there, but now he is pretty confident going from the ottoman to the couch. I have a feeling walking is right around the corner.

Congratulations Carrie! The art teacher's position is right up your alley. You are such a creative person and really have the ability to inspire others' creativity (ie: mine!) so I'm sure you will do a great job with the kids :o) Speaking of creativity...looking forward to seeing you on Friday for craft night!
Yay, Mrs. Ossege! You are such a great teacher - the kids are so lucky to have you fill in! They may not want their other teacher to come back ;)
